I am Silvia Meredith, a mum of three, a keen runner, trained nurse and a Certified Coach and Mentor.
I specialise in supporting parents and carers whose child or teenager is struggling with an eating disorders.
I understand what you are going through as I witnessed this illness within my close family. This can happen in any family. I still remember feeling like a failure, being very distressed, hopeless and unsupported. I also know how valuable it was when I found the right sort of help and was able to switch my focus from “Why this did happened?” to “What can we do now?” and “No matter what it takes we will get through this!”.
I am non-judgemental, a sensitive listener and I’ve always been intent on helping people overcome their issues.
My background initially was in the healthcare industry where I trained to be a nurse. I took a break to care for my 3 children, whilst keeping active and planning my next career path. This turned out to be setting up my own business as a Personal Trainer. It has been very rewarding seeing people make changes around their fitness and confidence particularly when I have applied Life Coaching.
My experience of Life Coaching and why I am passionate about it:
I discovered Coaching by chance and it turned out to be a life changing experience for me. It had an enormous impact on me as a parent and as a person, and it has helped me through some of my toughest times. Mostly, it has taught me that every challenge we (parents) overcome results in us becoming much stronger and much more resilient. It made such a significant difference to my life that I decided to become a Life Coach myself.
I no longer waste my time and energy on finding out why I face challenges, but instead I focus on what I can do about them and how I can deal with them. I have learnt tools and strategies that have helped me move forward. They are a huge part of my coaching and I use them with my clients.
What I love about this process is seeing parents go from being totally helpless and have no control to taking control, becoming confident and finding solutions they initially thought they wouldn’t find.
If you think you are in an impossible situation and you don’t think there is anything that you can do to help your child , I can assure you there is always a solution, if you want to find one.
